Authorship Policy

Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences follows clear and fair authorship criteria to ensure appropriate recognition of researchers’ contributions and maintain scientific integrity throughout the publication process.

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scientific or intellectual contributions to the research, in accordance with internationally recognized standards of publication ethics.

Authorship Criteria

All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to one or more of the following:

  • Conception, design, or methodology of the research.
  • Conducting the study, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of results.
  • Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  • Final approval of the version submitted for publication.
  • Taking responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and content of the research.

General administrative support, funding acquisition, or overall supervision alone does not qualify an individual for authorship.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must:

  • Ensure that authorship accurately reflects actual contributions to the research.
  • Agree on the order of authors before manuscript submission.
  • Approve the final version submitted for publication.
  • Share responsibility for the integrity and reliability of the research.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest related to the study.

Corresponding Author

A corresponding author must be designated to communicate with the journal and is responsible for:

  • Managing communication with the editorial office during submission, review, and publication.
  • Ensuring that all submission requirements are fulfilled.
  • Informing all authors about manuscript revisions and editorial decisions.
  • Obtaining approval from all authors before making changes to authorship.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add or remove authors before publication must include a clear justification and require approval from all authors. Such requests are reviewed by the editorial board according to COPE guidelines.

The journal does not accept the addition of individuals who have not made substantial contributions to the research or the removal of contributors without valid justification.

Non-Author Contributors

Individuals who do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section, including:

  • Technical assistance.
  • Administrative support.
  • Provision of materials, equipment, or resources.
  • Financial or institutional support.

Authorship Disputes

Any disputes regarding authorship or author order are handled according to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal may request clarification, written agreement among authors, or refer the matter to the authors’ affiliated institutions when necessary.
