Self-Archiving Policy

Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences supports the dissemination of scientific knowledge and promotes open access to research outputs by allowing authors to self-archive their scholarly works under clear conditions that protect intellectual property rights and maintain the integrity of the journal’s scholarly record.

The journal permits authors to deposit copies of their published or accepted manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and academic platforms in accordance with the journal’s open access policy and publication licensing terms.

Permitted Versions for Self-Archiving

Authors may archive the following versions:

  • Preprint: The original version of the manuscript before peer review.
  • Accepted Manuscript: The author’s version after peer review revisions and acceptance, before final journal formatting and publication.
  • Version of Record: The final published version of the article by the journal, distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Permitted Archiving Locations

Authors may deposit their work in:

  • Institutional repositories of universities or research organizations.
  • Subject-based scholarly repositories.
  • Personal academic webpages.
  • Scientific platforms that support self-archiving according to open access standards.

Self-Archiving Requirements

When self-archiving any version of an article, authors must:

  • Clearly acknowledge the original publication source in Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences.
  • Provide a link to the official journal article page.
  • Include complete citation information, including article title, authors, issue details, and publication year.
  • Ensure that the archived version is not presented as an independent publication separate from the official journal version.

Authors’ Rights

The journal supports authors’ rights to share and disseminate their scientific work to increase research visibility and impact while maintaining authors’ rights and the journal’s right of first publication and scholarly record.

Preservation and Continuity

Self-archiving does not replace the journal’s responsibility for maintaining the official scholarly record of published articles through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and approved digital preservation procedures.

This policy follows the principles of DOAJ Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
