Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing any form of malpractice. We adhere strictly to the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Our commitment extends to authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher, ensuring fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the entire publication process.

Duties of Authors

  • iginality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submitted work is entirely original and that all sources are properly acknowledged. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and data fabrication/falsification are unacceptable. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin, with a similarity index target of less than 25%).

    Authorship: Authorship should accurately reflect contributions to the research. All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study, approved the final manuscript, and agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work.

    Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data where practicable.

    Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or other relationships that could be construed as a conflict of interest.

    Reporting Standards: Authors should present their methods and results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
  • Fundamental Errors: If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

Duties of Reviewers

  • ontribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper.

    Promptness: Reviewers should respond within the requested timeframe and notify the editor if they are unable to complete the review.
  • onfidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

    Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

    Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

    Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the papers.

Duties of Editors

  • Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

  • Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher.

    Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors will recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
  • Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. These decisions are based on the paper's importance, originality, clarity, and the validity of the study and its relevance to the journal's scope.

  • Involvement and Cooperation in Investigations: Editors should take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. In cases of suspected misconduct, the editor, in conjunction with the publisher, will follow COPE guidelines.
