Plagiarism Policy

Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences is committed to publishing only original research and upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Plagiarism, in all its forms, is a serious ethical offense and is strictly prohibited. Our policy is designed to ensure the integrity of the scientific record and to protect the rights of original authors.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work, ideas, words, or data as your own, without proper attribution. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying: Reproducing text verbatim without quotation marks and citation.

  • Paraphrasing without attribution: Rewriting someone else's ideas in your own words without proper citation.

  • Mosaic plagiarism: Combining phrases and sentences from different sources without proper attribution.

  • Self-plagiarism (Duplicate Publication): Re-using substantial parts of one's own previously published work without proper acknowledgment or citation, or submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.

  • Improper citation: Failing to cite sources correctly or completely.

Plagiarism Detection

All submitted manuscripts to the Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences are rigorously screened for plagiarism using reputable detection software, specifically Turnitin.

Our Acceptance Threshold: A manuscript will typically be considered for review only if its overall similarity index from Turnitin is less than 25%. The editorial team will carefully review the Turnitin report, focusing on the quality of the matches, the cited sources, and the distribution of similarities. A low overall percentage does not automatically guarantee acceptance, especially if specific sections show high similarity to a single source.

Consequences of Plagiarism

Any form of plagiarism detected at any stage of the submission or publication process will lead to serious consequences, including but not limited to:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript.

  • Prohibition from submitting future manuscripts to the Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences for a specified period.

  • Notification of the author's institution and/or funding bodies.

  • In cases of published articles, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and issue a formal statement of retraction.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for properly citing all sources. We strongly encourage authors to use citation management tools and to carefully review their manuscripts for any unintentional plagiarism before submission.
