Plagiarism Policy

Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Plagiarism or any form of unauthorized use of others’ work is considered a serious violation that conflicts with the principles of scientific research and scholarly publishing.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the use of ideas, texts, data, results, figures, or scientific works belonging to other researchers without proper acknowledgment of the original sources.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text or parts of published works without proper citation.
  • Using others’ ideas, results, or methodologies without acknowledgment.
  • Republishing the same research or substantial parts of it without disclosure and appropriate permission.
  • Using tables, figures, images, or data without citing the source or obtaining permission when required.
  • Manipulating references or including sources that were not actually used in the research.

2. Plagiarism Screening of Submitted Manuscripts

  • All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism and similarity screening using specialized detection tools before or during the peer-review process.
  • The journal uses plagiarism and similarity detection tools, including:
    • Turnitin
    • Plagiarism Checker X
  • The overall similarity index should not exceed 20%, taking into account properly cited quotations and references.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to request revisions or reject manuscripts that exceed the acceptable similarity threshold or violate research integrity standards.

3. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must:

  • Submit original research that reflects their genuine scientific contributions.
  • Properly cite all sources according to accepted academic referencing standards.
  • Obtain necessary permissions when using materials or data owned by others.
  • Take full responsibility for any cases of plagiarism or inappropriate use of scientific sources.

4. Actions in Cases of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected, the journal takes appropriate actions according to the severity of the violation, which may include:

  • Rejecting the manuscript before publication.
  • Requesting explanations or revisions from authors.
  • Referring the case to the authors’ affiliated institutions when necessary.
  • Retracting the published article if plagiarism is discovered after publication.
  • Taking additional actions according to publication ethics guidelines.

5. Plagiarism After Publication

If plagiarism or unauthorized use of scientific content is confirmed after publication, the journal reserves the right to:

  • Issue a correction notice or retract the article.
  • Update the article’s scholarly record.
  • Take necessary actions to protect the integrity of the published content.

6. Compliance with International Standards

Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences applies its plagiarism policy in accordance with:

  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Guidelines
  • International principles of research integrity and publication ethics.
