Albahit Journal of Applied Sciences is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the published scholarly record. The journal handles errors, concerns, and ethical issues identified after publication through clear and transparent procedures in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
This policy ensures that scientific information is corrected when necessary and protects readers and researchers from relying on inaccurate or unethical published content.
1. Corrections
The journal publishes official corrections when errors are identified in published articles that do not significantly affect the scientific findings or conclusions.
Corrections may include:
- Significant spelling or editorial errors.
- Errors in author names or institutional affiliations.
- Errors in tables or figures.
- Minor inaccuracies in data or scientific information.
Corrections must be:
- Clear and specific.
- Linked to the original article.
- Available to readers with details of the changes made.
- Included as part of the official scholarly record.
2. Retraction
The journal may retract a published article when serious issues are identified that affect the validity, reliability, or integrity of the research.
Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
- Plagiarism.
- Fabrication or falsification of data.
- Major methodological errors that invalidate results.
- Lack of required ethical approvals.
- Authorship manipulation or undisclosed conflicts of interest affecting publication integrity.
- Duplicate publication in violation of publication ethics.
3. Retraction Process
When retraction is considered necessary, the journal will:
- Review the case and assess available evidence.
- Contact authors to obtain necessary explanations.
- Make an independent decision through the editorial board.
- Publish an official retraction notice explaining the reason.
- Link the retraction notice to the original article for transparency.
Retracted articles are not removed from the journal archive; instead, their retracted status is clearly indicated to preserve the scholarly record.
4. Expression of Concern
The journal may issue an Expression of Concern when there are serious doubts regarding the reliability of an article, but insufficient evidence is available for immediate correction or retraction.
The statement remains linked to the article until the investigation is completed and appropriate action is taken.
5. Requests for Corrections or Retractions
Requests for corrections or reports of post-publication issues may be submitted to the journal’s editorial office.
Requests should include:
- Article title.
- Authors’ names.
- Detailed description of the issue.
- Supporting evidence or relevant information.
All requests are reviewed objectively and confidentially.
6. Authors’ Responsibilities After Publication
Authors must:
- Immediately notify the journal when significant errors are discovered in their published work.
- Cooperate with the editorial office during correction or retraction procedures.
- Provide necessary information to investigate article-related concerns.
